The author Harry Bosgoed

Harry Bosgoed, born in 1961, is the youngest son of a Christian family of nine children from a small village between Deventer and Apeldoorn. He successfully completed pre-university education (VWO) and graduated as a process engineer from Wageningen University. It wasn't until he was around 39 that he met his current boyfriend.

However, it took a long time for that relationship to actually take shape: although the man admitted to being gay, he had decided to live a celibate life due to his Catholic background. This prompted Harry to question whether a same-sex relationship was the right path for him. The solution was to start his own research into what "the Bible" actually allowed and what it didn't.

This led to the highly personal book "Onze liefde is goed (Our love is okay)" in 2006, written especially for the man in question: under a pseudonym, because he wasn't initially allowed to know who wrote it! This might therefore be the longest and most complicated love letter ever written. However, the book received a very positive review in "the Gay-krant" (the largest gay magazine in the Netherlands), and miraculously, all the other, seemingly impossible obstacles to their relationship were subsequently overcome: the result is that he has now had a stable relationship with his boyfriend for 19 years.

So now the rest of the world has to bear the brunt... After a major update, the book has been republished; this time under his own name, including several new discoveries and a much more provocative design, in the belief that this could help many thousands of gay men worldwide accept themselves. It's now also available in English, so spread the word!
